Barbara Hooper
Barbara has called Ocala, Marion County home since 2011. Barbara, her husband Eric and daughter, Grace enjoy life on the farm and the beautiful countryside that Florida brings. She is originally from the midwest with strong roots in farming and horses. For more than 150 years her family has owned, raised and loved horses. Barbara went to college in Wisconsin and received a degree in mass communications and for the past 30 years has enjoyed a career in broadcasting. Through the years, she has been an on-air radio personality, news director, TV reporter and news anchor. Her stories have been featured on CNN, received a Communicators Award for Best Host for the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association 2021 Champions Award Show and has been recognized by several organizations for making a positive impact for producing stories that make a difference in the community. Barbara has worked throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, Georgia and Florida. Barbara says, "Working in the equine world is absolutely the best job I've ever had because it brings me back to my roots. I also own two appaloosa mares that bring me joy every day. I know I wouldn't have made it this far in my career if it wasn't for the love and support of my family."
